Calcium gluconate 10% 100 ml Olkar
Description : Transparent, colorless or light yellow liquid with possible slight opalescence.
Ingredients : 1 ml of the drug contains the active substance: calcium gluconate – 100 mg. and excipients.
Pharmacological properties : The drug reduces the permeability of capillaries, has anti-inflammatory, anti-exudative and anti-allergic effects, tones the sympathetic nervous system. Calcium gluconate increases the level of calcium in the blood; stimulates heart activity and metabolic processes in the body; weakens the action of toxins. Calcium activates the reticuloendothelial system and increases the phagocytic function of leukocytes, accelerates blood clotting, creating conditions for the conversion of prothrombin into thrombin.
Usage : Treatment of animals with allergic reactions to reduce the permeability of blood vessels and prevent edema; inflammatory exudative processes; eczematous skin lesions; pneumonia; endometritis; osteodystrophy, rickets, cholieterotoxemia (“edema”) of piglets; as a hemostatic agent for parenchymal bleeding; as an antidote for magnesium salt poisoning, toxic liver disease.
Dosage : Intravenously slowly in single doses, per animal: calves, foals, sheep, goats : 50 – 100 ml of the drug; piglets : 10 – 30 ml of the drug; dogs : 5 – 30 ml of the drug; cats : 5 – 15 ml of the drug. It is possible to re-use the drug after 12 hours. Before administration, the drug is warmed to the body temperature of the animal. Calves, sheep, goats, piglets can be administered intramuscularly, and dogs and cats – orally.
Contraindications : Do not use in hypercalcemia, kidney disease, myocardial infarction. Do not use simultaneously with the glycosides of foxglove and strophanthus.
Caution : Enter slowly.
