2D Brovamast Antimastitis Drugs (cloxacillin, neomycin, sulfathiazole) 10 ml *4 pcs
Treatment of cows in lactation acute and subacute forms of bacterial etiology of mastitis
suspension for intracisternal use
10 ml of the drug (1 syringe-tube) contain:
cloxacillin sodium salt – 300 mg
neomycin sulfate – 150 mg
sodium sulfathiazole – 500 mg
Description
Liquid white or light yellow, oily.
Pharmacological properties
Cloxacillin is a broad-spectrum bactericidal antibiotic from the group of semi-synthetic penicillins.Β Active against gram-positive microorganisms that cause mastitis in cows – Streptococcus agalactiae, Streptococcus dysgalactiae, Streptococcus uberis, penicillin-resistant and penicillin-sensitive staphylococci and Corynebacterium pyogenes.
Ampicillin is a semi-synthetic beta-lactam antibiotic with a broad spectrum of action.Β Active against gram-positive microorganisms – Staphylococcus spp.Β (Except for penicillinase-producing strains), Streptococcus spp.Β (including S. pneumoniae), Corynebacterium diphtheriae, Bacillus anthracis, Clostridium spp., most enterococci, gram-negative microorganisms – Escherichia coli, Shigella spp., Salmonella spp., Neisseria, Schisella, N. Neisseria gonorrhea , Haemophilus influenzae.Β Destroyed by penicillinase, so does not act on penicillinase-forming strains of pathogens.
The drug inhibits the polymerase of peptidoglycan and transpeptidase, prevents the formation of peptide bonds and disrupts the synthesis of the cell wall of dividing microorganisms in the later stages.Β Envelope defects that occur reduce the osmotic stability of bacterial cells, which leads to their death (lysis).
Sulfadimidine is a short-acting antimicrobial bacteriostatic agent from the group of sulfonamides.Β Active against gram-positive microorganisms – Stahylococcus spp., Streptococcus spp., Corynebacterium spp., Gram-negative microorganisms – Bordetella spp., Haemophilus spp., Klebsiella spp., Pasterella spp., Proteus spp., Salmonella spp.
The mechanism of antimicrobial action is due to impaired synthesis of folic acid in the bacterial cell.Β Because sulfanilamides are similar in structure to para-aminobenzoic acid (PABA), they are competitive inhibitors of dihydropteroate synthetase.Β This disrupts the synthesis of tetrahydrofolic acid, which is needed by bacteria to form purines and pyrimidines.Β The latter are involved in the synthesis of folic acid, which inhibits the synthesis of thymidine by bacterial cells.
Following intracisternal administration, ampicillin, sulfadimidine and cloxacillin are absorbed into the blood in very small amounts.Β The therapeutic concentration of these substances is maintained for 12 hours.Β They are excreted mainly in active form with milk, in small quantities – with urine and feces.
Indication
TreatmentΒ of dairy cowsΒ with serous, catarrhal, fibrinous, purulent, subclinical mastitis caused by microorganisms sensitive to the active substances of the drug.
Contraindication
Do not prescribe to animals with hypersensitivity to the active substances of the drug.
Method of application and dosage
The drug is used 2 times a day after thorough milking of the diseased part of the udder and aseptic treatment of the teat.Β Before administration, the suspension is warmed to animal body temperature (35-37 Β° C) and shaken thoroughly to a homogeneous consistency.Β Then 10 g of the drug is slowly injected into the milk canal with a syringe-tube or catheter and syringe and massage the teat from the bottom up to distribute the drug in the milk tank of the udder.Β The course of treatment is 2-3 days.

Before use, it is necessary to test for susceptibility of pathogenic microorganisms to the active substances of the drug.
Do not use for more than 5-7 days, as well as with antibiotics that are antagonists of the active substances of the drug (amphotericin B, polymyxin B, vancomycin), cephalosporins, tetracyclines and chloramphenicol.
After the last application of the drug, slaughter of animals for meat is allowed in 8 days, people can eat milk in 72 hours.Β Meat and milk obtained earlier than this period are disposed of or fed to non-productive animals, depending on the conclusion of the veterinarian.
