Description
The liquid is colorless, transparent.

Pharmacological properties
Oxytocin – a hormone of the posterior pituitary protein-peptide structure, stimulates the smooth muscles of the uterus, increases contractile activity and to a lesser extent the tone of the uterus.

APPLICATION
Method of application and dosage
The drug is used once, administered subcutaneously or intramuscularly in the following doses:

cows, mares – 3-6 ml;
sheep, goats – 1-1.5 ml;
sows – 2-3 ml;
dogs- 0.5-1 ml;
cats – 0.2-0.3 ml.
To cause a faster reaction, the dose is reduced by 30% and administered intravenously with glucose solution.

Reservation
Do not use with a slightly open cervix or incorrect position of the fetus. Oxytocin enhances the contraction of the myometrium. During pregnancy, the uterus is more sensitive to the drug. The effect of oxytocin increases with increasing gestational age and reaches a maximum during childbirth. High sensitivity persists for several days after birth.

Oxytocin affects the secretion of milk (increases the release of lactogenic hormone of the anterior pituitary gland) and its secretion (due to the excitation of myoepithelial elements of the breast).

Oxytocin solution can be used together with many solutions for intravenous administration and the following drugs: netilmicin sulfate, sodium bicarbonate, tetracycline hydrochloride, sodium thiopental, verapamil hydrochloride.

Oxytocin is not compatible with fibrinolysin, norepinephrine, meterazine, warfarin sodium.

Indication
Used for female domestic animals (cows, mares, sheep, goats, sows, bitches, cats) during prolonged childbirth (hypotension, uterine atony), postpartum uterine bleeding, delayed litter, to stimulate the process of postpartum uterine self-cleansing, in combination with other chemotherapy for the treatment of endometritis, sows for the treatment of agalactia and improved milk secretion.

Contraindication
