Description
Transparent colorless liquid.
Storage
1 ml of the drug contains the active substance:
chloramphenicol – 5 mg.
Excipients: sodium tetraborate, boric acid, sodium chloride, Trilon B, water for injections.
Pharmacological power
Chloramphenicol – an antibiotic with a broad spectrum of antimicrobial activity, active against most gram-positive and gram-negative microorganisms, such as: Staphylococcus aureus, Streptococcus pyogenes, Shigella spp., Brucella spp., Pasteurellachuslare. , Bacillus anthracis, Corynebacterium pyogenes, Erysipelothrix rhusiopathiae, as well as rickettsia (Ricketssia spp.), Mycoplasma (Mycoplasma spp.), Chlamydia (Chlamydia spp.). The action of chloramphenicol is to bind to the 50S ribosomal subunit, which leads to inhibition of bacterial protein synthesis.
Application
Treatment of dogs, cats, ornamental rodents, patients with conjunctivitis, keratitis, infected eye wounds, corneal ulcers caused by microorganisms sensitive to chloramphenicol. Prevention of postoperative complications.
Dosage
The drug should be instilled 2-3 drops in the affected eye 2 times a day for 3-10 days, depending on the course of the disease.
Contraindication
Hypersensitivity to chloramphenicol.
Reservation
The drug is incompatible with antibiotics from the group of quinolines, as well as with ristomycin, penicillin. Inhibits the antimicrobial action of B-lactam antibiotics.
