Mitex (Mitex) suspension, 20 ml – is a complex veterinary drug for the treatment of otitis media in cats and dogs. Mitex drops are a triple defense against bacteria, yeast, mites and inflammatory symptoms.
Ear drops and skin suspension.
Otologic drugs, corticosteroids and anti-infectious agents in combination.
Ear canal inflammation is a common problem in small pets (10-20% in dogs and 2-6% in cats) and one of the leading reasons for visiting a veterinarian. Mitex is the perfect combination of three substances that work synergistically to provide powerful protection against otitis externa and localized skin infections. Polymyxin B and miconazole complement each other and effectively potentiate each other in their antimicrobial activity against the most important bacteria and yeast involved in otitis externa: Staphylococcus pseudointermedius, Pseudomonas aeruginosa, Escherichia coli and Malassezia pachydermatis. Prednisolone, a synthetic corticosteroids, has a rapid anti-inflammatory, antiallergic, antiexudative and antiproliferative effect and quickly relieves the symptoms of inflammation without causing systemic side effects.
Mitex has also been shown to be effective against ear mites, thus directing attention to another primary factor (specific to cats). With constant use, the parasites quickly die and the healing process is accelerated.
For the treatment of otitis externa and small, localized superficial skin infections in dogs and cats caused by infections with the following bacteria and fungi susceptible to miconazole and polymyxin B:
Infections of the external auditory canal (otitis externa): 5 drops 2 times a day into the external auditory canal until several days after the complete disappearance of clinical symptoms, at least for 7-10 days to 14 days.
Concomitant infection with ear mites (Otodectes cynotis): 5 drops, 2 times a day into the external auditory canal for 14 days. Consideration should be given to treating both ears, even if the infection only occurs in one ear.
Skin infections (small, localized superficially) A few drops twice a day are well rubbed into the affected skin until several days after the complete disappearance of clinical symptoms, up to 14 days. In some persistent cases (ear or skin infections), treatment may need to be continued for 2 to 3 weeks. In cases where long-term treatment is necessary, repeated clinical examinations are necessary, including a reassessment of the diagnosis.
Polymer bottle with a capacity of 20 ml, packed in a cardboard box.
